Teofilo appointed head of maritime services at port of Long Beach

The port of Long Beach has appointed Tom Teofilo managing director of maritime services, effective Dec. 6.

Teofilo, a Southern California resident with 35 years of industry experience, will succeed Don Wylie, who left the port in July to join a stevedoring company.

Teofilo recently resigned as the Southern California vice president of the Pacific Merchant Shipping Association, a San Francisco-based Organization representing owners and operators of U.S. and foreign flagged vessels, marine terminals and stevedoring companies on the West Coast.

He had worked for the port of Long Beach from 1982 to 1986.
