Terrorist threat note shuts down Port of Hueneme

Terrorist threat note shuts down Port of Hueneme    Media outlets reported Monday that part of the Port of Hueneme, Calif., was shut down after dockworkers found a note aboard a reefer vessel threatening President George W. Bush with a nitroglycerine bomb.
The ship, the 'Wild Lotus,' is a 30,000-ton Panamanian-registered ship carrying bananas from Guatemala, according to comments from U.S. Coast Guard and port officials.
Hueneme is located more than an hour north of Los Angeles and is the only deepwater harbor between the San Pedro Bay port complex in Southern California and the Northern California Bay Area. The port is one of the nation's largest in terms of handling citrus, bananas and automobiles. In 2005, Chiquita relocated its facilities from the Port of Long Beach to Hueneme.
According to Reuters, 'bomb-sniffing dogs were used to search the ship, several surrounding vessels, cargo and buildings, while divers inspected the hull of the ship.'
Only the terminal and the surrounding area were shut down to civilian traffic while the threat was investigated. The handwritten note said, according to the news agency: 'nitro + glycerin, a gift for gw bush and his jewish gang.”
FBI officials said the investigation is ongoing.
