Thailand postpones produce inspection changes    Thailand's Food and Drug Administration has postponed the implementation of new inspection requirements for imports of fresh fruit and vegetables.
   The agency had planned to implement the regulations on July 1.
   'As a result of the FDA's discussion meeting with other relevant agencies on June 29, 2009, we agreed that, in order to promote the principle of WTO (World Trade Organization) under the acceptance of the equality of trading partners, the implementation of the new import procedures should be postponed until all the related sectors are ready,' said Narangsant Pheerakij, FDA deputy secretary general, in a letter to Thailand's vegetable and fruit importers. 'The new implementation date will be notified later.'
