TIACA offers forwarders lower fee, network access

TIACA offers forwarders lower fee, network access

The International Air Cargo Association said Friday it aims to attract more freight forwarders to its ranks by offering reduced membership fees and discounts on exhibition and conference costs.

The new program also offers forwarders access to a new Air Logistics Network (ALN) that provides a series of tools for cargo operators. The new reduced membership fee for forwarders will be $300 per year, compared to the previous rate of $1,000.

'The Air Logistics Network will become a comprehensive service that facilitates business for forwarders and air logistics professional,' TIACA said. 'One of the first offerings is ALN's new online Reference Center, designed to provide useful links to practical regulatory and commercial references and tools to support the daily work of cargo agents globally.'

Access to the ALN Reference Center will be restricted to TIACA members only.

'This new initiative follows our offer of free of charge membership to shippers and is clearly designed to attract more shippers and forwarders to the association from across the globe,' said

Daniel Fernandez, secretary general of TIACA. 'I am confident that the Air Logistics Network and other business incentives will bring measurable benefits to new members from these sectors of the industry and, subsequently, to the whole TIACA membership.'
