TIACA to train forwarders in Nigeria, China

TIACA to train forwarders in Nigeria, China    The International Air Cargo Association's Education and Research Committee plans to increase its training reach to freight forwarders in Nigeria and China.
   This move follows the TIACA committee's recent launch of similar training courses in East Africa with the Federation of East African Freight Forwarders’ Association (FEAFFA), whose members are located in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi. The first training course will start in February, initially providing a five-day program for 20 to 30 forwarder employees.
   'We are now in the process of looking at where we want to go next in terms of extending our education footprint,' said Jim Edgar, Boeing's regional marketing director and chairman of TIACA's Education and Research Committee. 'TIACA is working with the Council of the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria regarding a further deployment of the course later in 2011 as well as looking at opportunities to extend our courses into China.'
