TIBBETT & BRITTEN ACQUIRES FRENCH LOGISTICS FIRM

TIBBETT & BRITTEN ACQUIRES FRENCH LOGISTICS FIRM    Tibbett & Britten Group plc, the rapidly-expanding U.K.-based logistics service provider, has acquired the TCA group of companies, a French logistics operator.
   The purchase includes the group’s French holding company, Cipar Developpement SA.
   TCA operates internationally in the fresh produce transport and distribution sector in both France and Spain. The company undertakes distribution to wholesalers and retailers throughout France and Spain using a fleet of 180 refrigerated commercial vehicles and trailers.
   TCA company employs about 250 people and had revenues of over FFr188 million ($29 million) in 1998.
   TCA’s operations have been incorporated as a separate division within Tibbett & Britten France.
   Tibbett & Britten said that the acquisition of TCA reinforces its operations in one of its core sectors – food and grocery logistics – and in two important national markets where it is already a major player.
