Tideworks deploys terminal operating system in Port Arthur

Tideworks deploys terminal operating system in Port Arthur    Tideworks Technology, a provider of full-service terminal management and planning software services for terminal operators, said it deployed its Genoa Breakbulk Management System in Port Arthur, Texas, Monday.
   Genoa is a suite of systems designed to help multipurpose terminal operators more effectively plan, manage and control terminal processes.
   The Port Arthur terminal, which is operated by SSA Marine, annually handles about 250,000 tons of paper pulp annually, its principle commodity. Aracruz Cellulose, the world’s leading producer of bleached eucalyptus pulp (responsible for 30 percent of the global supply), exports the pulp from Brazil to ports in U.S. markets, including Port Arthur. The port also handles steel and breakbulk forest products.
   Carriers calling Port Arthur include Star Shipping, Spliethoff, Hanjin, and Transatlantic Services.
