ABS has appointed Kirsi Tikka to president and chief operating officer of the classification society’s European division.
She was most recently the firm’s vice president and chief engineer. In her new role, Tikka will be based in London.
Tikka, a native of Finland, takes over from John McDonald who is transferring to Houston as vice president and chief of staff of the organization.
Tikka has held several vice president-level posts in the European division. Prior to joining ABS, she worked for Chevron Shipping.
