Titan to open steel processing facility at Port of Tampa

Titan to open steel processing facility at Port of Tampa Titan Metal Service Inc., will Feb. 28 officially open a 50,000-square-foot steel processing facility at the Port of Tampa’s Hooker's Point terminal.
   The new facility can process 50,000 to 60,000 tons of steel coil annually, the Florida port said. Key features of the new building include 30-ton and 15-ton cranes, suited for handling steel coils in excess of 25 tons each, and a six-car rail siding that enables crane unloading inside the facility.
   “We are thrilled to bring a first-class steel processing operation to the State of Florida and particularly to the Port of Tampa. This facility will reduce inefficiencies in the logistics and processing of steel coils to the manufacturing customer base in Florida and stretching to the Southeast,” said Chris Bush, one of Titan’s general managers.
