TMS provider expands availability of system

The software provider Cirrus TMS said Tuesday it has expanded the availability of its software-as-a-service (Saas)-based transportation management technology.
Cirrus said the TMS platform was previously only available to a select group of clients, but now the software may be licensed to businesses that prefer to self-manage their freight operations.
Since development of Cirrus TMS began in 2005, the software provider has partnered exclusively with growing freight brokerages or third party logistics firms that require a simple method to manage a large network of carriers, their sales force and their shippers. Cirrus TMS said it has grown from a basic less-than-truckload rating and booking engine to a scalable system that features a truckload processing module and simple accounting software integration.
“We built Cirrus TMS with businesses in mind,” said Joel Levey, software sales specialist for Cirrus. “Given that the nature of a successful business is to expand, we designed our software to be completely tailored and customized to the needs of our clients.”
Cirrus TMS said its system offers visibility of real-time supply chain information, a centralized platform for storing carrier and customer data, the ability to identify key performance indicators, instant rating, booking and automated bill of lading generation, and a strategy to reduce overall transportation and operational costs. – Eric Johnson
