TNT opens new DC in Orlando

TNT opens new DC in Orlando    TNT Logistics North America said Thursday it has opened a new regional distribution center in Orlando for Otis Elevator Company, the world's largest manufacturer of elevators, escalators and moving walkways.
   The new 57,700-square-foot distribution center will serve the Southeast region of the U.S. It joins four other regional distribution centers Otis has around the country.
   TNT said it will provide a variety of distribution support services for Otis. TNT will receive elevator components from Otis manufacturing plants and suppliers. It will consolidate components into complete installation kits for each project, then deliver the kits directly to job sites — mostly for commercial and retail construction projects.
   “We're pleased to have been selected by Otis to support its regional distribution network,” said Jeff Hurley, chief operating officer, TNT Logistics North America. “For the past 25 years, TNT Logistics North America has been focused on providing quality logistics support for heavy industrial customers. We look forward to continuing this tradition with Otis.”
