Toll relief for International Bridge

Toll relief for International Bridge

Commercial vehicle operators and motorists paying in Canadian currency to cross the International Bridge between Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., and Ontario will see their toll rates go down on Tuesday.

The binational bridge administration is equalizing the rate to reflect changes in the Canadian dollar during the past six months.

The toll for semi-trailer trucks with five axles will drop from $16.45 to $15, the same rate users pay in U.S. dollars.

The adjustment was required under the intergovernmental agreement under which the bridge operates because the value of the Canadian dollar increased to near parity with the U.S. dollar.
