Toll signs $1.15 million contract with Kontainers

The U.K.-based shipping company will power Toll’s online booking platform and will be introduced in the fourth quarter.

Transportation and logistics provider Toll Group has signed a three-year software contract with U.K.-based software company Kontainers to power its online booking platform.
The agreement, announced Monday, reportedly is worth about $1.15 million and will see Toll introduce Kontainers’ flagship product, Enterprise, to its global forwarding operations in the fourth quarter.
Customers will be able to utilize the online portal for online pricing and quotes, bookings, shipment management and real-time analytics.
“Kontainers is delighted to earn the trust of a top 20 global freight forwarder and provide what has now become a critical software layer,” Kontainers CEO Graham Parker said in a statement.
The announcement came about a week after Toll announced it would be closing several U.S. locations, including Seattle, Philadelphia, Miami and Houston.
ZIM Integrated Shipping also is expected to strike a deal this quarter with Kontainers for its new portal and two more forwarders reportedly are in the process of signing up for the platform.
