Total Transportation to buy hydrogen trucks
Logistics company Total Transportation Services Inc. plans to purchase 100 hydrogen-powered trucks.
Vision Industries Corp. said it has received a letter of intent from Rancho Dominguez, Calif.-based TTSI to purchase the hydrogen fuel cell-electric class 8 heavy-duty trucks for $27 million.
The deal is dependent on a test of a truck to begin this week. TTSI will receive the first truck on July 22, and have it perform typical drayage operations, hauling freight containers from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to rail yards and other distribution facilities.
Vision said the deal “also opens the door for TTSI to purchase an additional 300 Vision trucks, bringing the total value of a TTSI sales contract to approximately $108 million dollars.”
