TOTE selects LNG provider at JaxPort

   TOTE Inc. has selected Pivotal LNG and WesPac Midstream to provide liquefied natural gas to fuel two, dual-fuel LNG container ships TOTE has ordered that will homeport in Jacksonville, Fla., in two years.
   Pivotal LNG is a subsidiary of AGL Resources, an Atlanta-based energy services holding company that owns and operates five liquefaction facilities. It also owns Caribbean container Tropical Shipping. Pivotal sells LNG wholesale to truck companies and other fleets. It signed a major contract with UPS last year to supply LNG stations being built for the company’s heavy-duty freight fleet.
   TOTE operates out of Jacksonville to Puerto Rico through its subsidiary Sea Star.
   AGL says it can make up to 540,000 gallons of LNG per day in the United States.
   WesPac is a private energy infrastructure company that develops, owns and operates smaller fuel facilities in North America for power plants, commercial ships, railroads and motor carriers. WesPac is majority owned by Highstar Capital, the same private equity group that owns terminal operator and stevedore Ports America. 
   Pivotal and Wespac announced Thursday they have signed a letter of intent to develop a new natural gas liquefaction plant in Jacksonville.
   Clean Energy Fuels Corp., a provider of natural gas for truck and bus fleets, also angled to supply the TOTE vessels.
