Trailer Bridge names new director
Trailer Bridge Inc. said it has appointed Douglas E. Schimmel to its board of directors.
Schimmel, 42, is a managing director and portfolio director at Sandler Capital Management, a New York City-based investment advisor that manages hedge funds and private equity funds with total assets of $1.1 billion.
Schimmel personally owns or controls 230,000 shares of Trailer Bridge stock. The company noted that Schimmel’s appointment restored the number of directors on its board to seven and brings it back into compliance with a Nasdaq rule requiring a majority of directors be independent.
