Trailer orders in September increased 32 percent from last month, rising to 32,111 units, according to FTR.

FTR attributes September’s rise to booking orders for 2015 and the generally strong current market.
“September orders at the larger OEMs reflect their increasing capacity constraints, which are recognized by the larger fleets. To firm up their requirements for all of 2015, those fleets have started placing large orders now,” Don Ake, FTR’s vice president of commercial vehicles, said in a statement. “The orders are spread throughout 2015, so they should not put much additional stress on production rates.”
