TRANS-I LAUNCHES OCEAN CARRIER WEB SOFTWARE

Trans-i Technologies Inc., a Florida-based logistics software company, has launched a suite of applications designed to allow ocean carriers to conduct daily online business transactions with shippers and freight forwarders.

The new software package, marketed as Trans-i e-Servicenter, uses integrated Web applications to provide user proactive exception alerts, shipments tracking and tracing, booking instruction templates with instant confirmation numbers, online customized reports, bill of lading templates, rate quotes and online payments.

“Worldwide there are approximately 250 ocean carriers, and while each is struggling to figure out what their customers are looking for, we already know and have all of the tools they need,” said Greg Bellows, Trans-i's chief executive officer. “Some lines are fairly advanced in the development of their online services, such as APL and OOCL, while many haven't even started.”
