Transplace, CombineNet keep procurement platform

The procurement solutions provider CombineNet has extended an existing deal with transportation management systems and third party logistics services provider Transplace, the companies said Tuesday.
The agreement will see the companies partner for a minimum of three more years to help Transplace customers procure transportation and logistics services.
Transplace uses the CombineNet ASAP e-sourcing technology as part of its solutions to help customers develop and optimize their carrier strategy for procurement events involving truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), and intermodal needs.
“The partnership with CombineNet allows us to more easily navigate the complexities of carrier selection, negotiations, and final procurement decisions for the clients we serve, given the large size and ever-evolving requirements of their supply chains,” said Ben Cubitt, senior vice president of consulting and engineering at Transplace, in a statement. “We look forward to the benefits of continuing this partnership, which gives us a strategic advantage in addressing the variety of new future challenges our clients will need to address.”
Cubitt said CombineNet’s solution gives Transplace customers an enhanced view of carrier strategy prior to opening the bid process to improve scenario analysis. The platform also helps Transplace’s customers evaluate the strategic mix of carriers, and tailor feedback from carriers during multiple bid rounds. – Eric Johnson
