Transportation factor in panhandle pipe company relocation A major supplier of concrete pipe for the Florida panhandle and neighboring Gulf Coast states says it plans to relocate its operations to a new location just north of Pensacola, in part because of the transportation infrastructure.
   Southeastern Pipe and Precast Concrete, which has been located in the neighboring county in the town of Milton, is moving to Escambia County to a site near Cantonment, according to a report in the Pensacola News Journal.
   Company owner Todd Stafford said one reason for the relocation was an improved proximity to rail lines and the Port of Pensacola. He will build a $4.5 million plant that is expected to bring 50 jobs to the county, and supply pipe for Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.
