The third party logistics company’s deal for BirdDog’s parcel logistics solutions is intended to broaden Transportation Insight’s reach into parcel optimization and audit services.
The third party logistics company Transportation Insight has acquired BirdDog Solutions, a provider of parcel logistics solutions in North America.
Transportation Insight said the acquisition will allow it to offer a more robust suite of services around parcel logistics, including optimization, auditing and analytics.
“Integrating the BirdDog Solutions organization into the Transportation Insight enterprise brings our clients more expertise, tools and technology,” said Chris Baltz, Transportation Insight president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
The company said the merged parcel logistics solutions infrastructure will help customers improve their process automation and simplify complex general ledger coding.
Transportation Insight also said the acquisition of BirdDog moves it closer to achieving its long-range growth plans, including a target of $5 billion in gross revenue by 2020. The company currently has gross revenue of $1.6 billion from its roughly 1,000 customers.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
