Trimble buys Logicway

   Trimble Navigation has added another acquisition to its portfolio through the purchase of Dutch software provider Logicway.
   Logicway develops automated payroll and expenses software for the transportation and logistics industry, allowing companies to pre-calculate salaries and expenses, track hours, monitor key performance indicators and improve report-building capabilities.
   The companies did not discuss financial details of the deal or how its offering will be integrated into Trimble’s current efforts.
   The service will likely be offered both as a standalone option as well as a new module in Trimble’s broader portfolio as the existing Logicway products can be integrated with Trimble’s transportation and logistics services. The purchase will help Trimble to further target the back-office.
   Michel Van Maercke, general manager of Trimble’s transportation and logistics group for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, said the Logicway purchase will be used to help Trimble customers adhere changing financial reporting laws and regulations in Europe and overseas.
   Logicway’s staff of 15 will be moved into Trimble’s Mobile Solutions segment. – Geoff Whiting
