Tropical postpones bunker charge increases Tropical Shipping said Friday it has postponed bunker fuel surcharge increases that had been scheduled to take effect on October 1.
   Tropical announced the increases on September 1, but after looking at the apparent downward trends in fuel prices, it has decided to postpone any increases until further notice.
   The decision on surcharges affects costs on its Caribbean islands services from the Port of Palm Beach, as well as the services of its Thompson Line subsidiary that operates between Port Everglades, Tampa, and the Cayman Islands.
   Outside of Florida, Tropical also offers service between Canada, the U.S., and several Caribbean islands.
