Tropical Shipping increasing bunker charge for Turks and Caicos

Tropical Shipping increasing bunker charge for Turks and Caicos Tropical Shipping will increase its bunker fuels surcharge for shipments between the United States and the Turks and Caicos Islands, effective Sept. 16.
   Tropical said the existing bunker surcharge is now considered to be part of the cost of doing business and would be rolled into the ocean freight. The carrier said it would not impact customers' bottom line, and would only be apparent in how the charges appear on a bill of lading.
   But there will be a new surcharge of $45 for 20-foot containers, $90 for 40-foot containers, and $101 for 45-foot containers.
