Tropical showcases technology in Bahamas Tropical Shipping showed customers in Freeport, Bahamas how the company's Internet technology can make it easier to do business during a special demonstration at a Freeport restaurant Wednesday, according to a feature story in Thursday's Nassau Guardian.
   The story said Tropical showed Freeport customers how the company website now offers Tropical's latest shipping schedules, creates bookings, registers customers online, searches for rates, tracks shipments, allows for online payments, and prints bills of lading.
   Tropical regional sales manager Kimberly Wallace told the newspaper that in the past, the most common concerns were when a customer's goods would arrive and how they could get a bill of lading. That information is now readily available online, she noted.
   The report said that even though the new technology eliminates the need for some phone calls, 'We still want our customers to contact us because we value our relationship with them.'
