Truck manifest migrates to Michigan    U.S. Customs and Border Protection will begin testing in October its electronic truck manifest system at Michigan ports of entry, including the Ambassador Bridge, in October.
   The agency has been developing an automated truck manifest transmission as part of its new import/export computer system to replace paper-based documents submitted by motor carriers at the border crossing.
   CBP has been phasing in implementation of the truck manifest, starting with clusters of ports in Washington, Arizona and North Dakota.
   Truckers with appropriate training will also be able to submit e-manifests at the Windsor Tunnel, the Detroit-Windsor truck ferry, Port Huron, Marine City, Algonac, and Sault St. Marie, according to a notice Friday in the Federal Register.
