Two Korean lines rework Indonesia/North China service

Hanjin Shipping and Heung-A Shipping said Monday they are reshuffling their service linking Indonesia with North China.

The new route, called North China Indonesia Service (NIS), will deploy four container vessels of 1,200 TEUs beginning June 13. Heung-A Shipping will provide three vessels and Hanjin the fourth.

In a statement the lines said they expect to satisfy the shipping demand of China, Korea and Indonesia by directly linking the fast-growing ports of Tianjin and Qingdao with Southeast Asia.

The new rotation will be: Tianjin, Qingdao, Busan, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Pyeongtaek, Incheon and Tianjin. The service will also call at Pyeongtaek every other week.
