Two resign from Horizon Lines amid Justice pricing probe

Two resign from Horizon Lines amid Justice pricing probe U.S. Jones Act carrier Horizon Lines, embroiled in a U.S. Justice Department investigation into the pricing practices of certain domestic ocean carriers, said Wednesday that two employees involved in its Puerto Rico trade lane operations have submitted their resignation.
   The unnamed employees were two of six Horizon Lines staff already placed on administrative leave following a company review of issues raised by the DOJ probe.
   “The company continues to fully cooperate with the Department of Justice in its investigation,” Horizon Lines said in a statement.
   In addition to Horizon Lines, the other Puerto Rico trade carriers being investigated are Sea Star, Crowley Maritime and Trailer Bridge. Alexander & Baldwin, owner of U.S. mainland to Hawaii carrier Matson Navigation, has also been served with a grand jury subpoena related to the Jones Act pricing investigation.
