U-Freight opens Chengdu office

U-Freight opens Chengdu office    U.K.-based U-Freight said Thursday it has opened an office in interior China, a move the international freight and logistics firm is hoping will drive its expansion in China westwards.
   U-Freight has opened a full service office in Chengdu, the capital of the inland Sichuan province, and the company’s regional hub for the southwestern part of China. Much like the rest of the freight industry, U-Freight’s expansion has focused on China’s eastern seaboard, the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River areas.
   However, China’s industrialization is moving swiftly westwards to inland regions, as wage rates rise in the highly developed eastern coastal regions and shortages of labor and resources emerge, U-Freight said in a statement.
