The company's Rapiscan subsidiary recently opened new manufacturing facilities in Apex, N.C., and Congleton, England, dedicated to making cargo inspection systems. The Congleton plant has produced more than 50 high-energy X-ray systems since opening in 2007.
The Rapiscan Eagle M4500 system is also used by U.S. Customs in a truck-mounted variant to scan shipping containers and trucks. The system can be set up to scan a line of trucks within 20 minutes of arrival.
