U.K. Shipping Minister asks for comments on EC maritime Green Paper Minister Stephen Ladyman today published a consultation paper to discuss the European Commission's future maritime policy Green Paper.
   'The EC intends to develop formal proposals based on the outcome of a Europe-wide consultation and it is vital that the U.K. has a strong, informed voice in this process. So it's important that all U.K. maritime interests reflect on the document and send us their comments,” said Ladyman.
   The EC Green Paper, entitled 'Towards a future Maritime Policy for the Union: A European vision for the Oceans and Sea,' was published in June and puts forward a number of areas for discussion, including sustainable maritime development, quality of life in coastal regions, ocean management tools, maritime governance as well as European maritime heritage and identity.
   Contributions to the U.K. consultation paper must be made before Feb. 28 with further information available from the U.K. Department for Transport Web site: https://www.dft.gov.uk.
