U.K. to analyze EU customs changes    The U.K. government's Revenue and Customs department intends to analyze the effects of the country's customs law under the Modernized Customs Code Implementing Provisions (MCCIP), before the 2013 introduction of the Modernized Customs Code (MCC), according to a notice from the freight forwarding association BIFA.
   The MCC and the MCCIP were published in 2008 and 2009, respectively, by the EU commission and are designed to improve customs procedures by using electronic data exchange, to replace some paper-based systems. The goal is to improve communication between EU member states and control of the flow of goods into and out of the EU.
   'In order to gauge the impact of the MCCIP, HMRC has constructed a questionnaire for business to provide feedback on the potential impact of changes in customs law, with the scheduled introduction of the MCC by June 2013,' the BIFA notice said. 'Initially targeted at small businesses, with less than 20 staff, they would also welcome responses to the questionnaire from medium and large organizations.'
