U.S. antidumping duties proceed for Chinese washers

The U.S. International Trade Commission has determined that Chinese-manufactured large residential washers harm domestic industry and has given the Commerce Department the green light to issue an antidumping duty order on these imports.    The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has determined that Chinese-manufactured large residential washers harm domestic industry and has given the Commerce Department the green light to issue an antidumping duty order on these imports from China.
   In its investigation last year, Commerce found dumping occurred with washers made by Nanjing LG-Panda, Appliances Co. Ltd. and Suzhou Samsung Electronics Co.
   The petitioner for the Commerce and ITC investigations was Whirlpool Corp. of Michigan.
   Commerce estimated that in 2014, imports of washing machines from China were valued at $899.4 million.
