U.S. bans U.K. livestock       The United States is expanding its prohibition on importing live cattle, sheep and goats from the United Kingdom following the discovery of foot and mouth disease in as many as three herds of there.
   All commercial shipments of live pigs and pork byproducts are now also being denied entry, Customs and Border Protection said.
      The U.K. government has banned the export of all livestock, fresh meat and milk products and halted the movement of all cattle, sheep and pigs except under license.
   In related news, CBP agriculture specialists at the Port of Miami discovered in July a pest that damages wheat inside a container of tiles from Spain. The container was sent to a treatment station before being released.
