U.S. exports reach $188.5b in July

The Commerce Department said U.S. exports of goods and services in July reached $188.5 billion, up from $187.7 billion the previous month.    The Commerce Department said U.S. exports of goods and services in July reached $188.5 billion, up from $187.7 billion the previous month.
   The trade deficit also improved by 7.4 percent in July to $41.9 billion, Commerce said.
   Commerce further noted that exports of financial services, telecommunications, computers and information services, and insurance services all broke records in July. 
   “Today’s data shows that exports in nearly every major goods subsector have increased, and the demand for U.S. made goods remains strong,” Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker said in a statement Thursday.
