U.S. imports down 4.1% in July
U.S. import volume decreased 4.1 percent in July, according to figures from the trade intelligence company Zepol Corp.
Import volume in July did increase 2.5 percent from June. Maersk Line was the leading carrier in terms of U.S. imports in July, with 114,888 TEUs, keeping the position its held throughout the year.
Minneapolis-based Zepol tracks inbound containers using U.S. Customs and Border Protection data straight from carrier bills of lading as they are entered in the Automated Manifest System.
