U.S. International Trade Commission tackles Chinese wooden bedroom furniture

U.S. International Trade Commission tackles Chinese wooden bedroom furniture    The U.S. International Trade Commission said there’s “reasonable indication” that the U.S. industry is injured by imports of Chinese wooden bedroom furniture that are allegedly sold in the United States at less than fair value.
Petitions for the International Trade Commission to investigate the import were lodged by members of the Washington-based American Furniture Manufacturers Committee for Legal Trade. From the petitions, the International Trade Commission launched a preliminary investigation on Oct. 31 and held a public hearing on Nov. 21.
The International Trade Commission will submit a report of its views on Chinese wooden bedroom furniture imports to the Commerce Department Jan. 12.
In 2002, U.S. imports of Chinese wooden bedroom furniture were valued at $958 million, the International Trade Commission said.
