U.S. sets conditions on Venezuela vessels The U.S. Coast Guard said it will impose certain conditions of entry on vessels arriving from Venezuela.
   The Coast Guard said it has determined that ports in Venezuela are not maintaining effective anti-terrorism measures, as required under the 2002 Maritime Transportation Security Act.
   Effective Jan. 23, vessels that visit ports in Venezuela during their last five port calls must provide guards at all vessel access points, attempt to issue a Declaration of Security, log all security actions in the ship’s log, and report all actions to the Coast Guard prior to arriving in U.S. waters.
   Based on the Coast Guard’s findings, the ship may be required to guard all access points while in U.S. ports.
