U.S., Thailand train on WMD interdiction

   Military and law enforcement authorities from the United States and Thailand on Tuesday conducted a table-top exercise in Bangkok on how to interdict cargo vessels at sea suspected of carrying weapons of mass destruction, delivery systems or related materials, as part of the Proliferation Security Initiative.
   It is the first PSI event to build up the capabilities of the Royal Thai Government since it endorsed the PSI in November.
   Now in its 10th year, the PSI is a global effort aimed at stopping trafficking of WMDs and components to and from states and non-state actors that don’t follow international regimes for controlling weapons proliferation. More than 70 countries belong to the PSI. – Eric Kulish
