U.S. to pursue free trade agreement with South Korea

President Bush said Thursday that the United States will begin talks to develop a free trade agreement with South Korea.

Bush said the agreement would “provide important economic, political, and strategic benefits to both countries and build on America’s engagement in Asia.”

South Korea is the seventh-largest U.S. trading partner and seventh-largest export market for U.S. goods, Bush noted.
