UASC joins ISC/Mid East-ECNA loop

The ocean carrier will begin purchasing lots on the joint INDAMEX/IEX loop operated by CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, NYK and OOCL on March 4.

   Ocean carrier UASC will join the INDAMEX/IEX loop, jointly operated by CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, NYK and OOCL, as a slot purchaser next week.
   The INDAMEX/IEX has a rotation of Karachi, Mumbai (Nhava Sheva), Mundra, Damietta, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston, Port Said, Jeddah and Karachi.
   UASC will join the service with the March 4 sailing of the Maipo from Karachi, dubbing it the INAS, according to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting.
   A total of eight vessels with an average capacity of 5,739 TEUs serve on the INDAMEX/IEX. CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd provide three vessels each, while NYK and OOCL provide one vessel each, with CMA CGM’s subsidiary lines, ANL and Delmas, purchasing slots on the loop.
   Overall, a total of eight container shipping services combined deploy 59,443 TEUs a week from the Middle East/ISC to North America, while nine container shipping services combined deploy 63,316 TEUs a week from North America to the Middle East ISC, according to BlueWater Reporting’s Capacity Report.
