UHC mobile tool improves pharma logistics

   UHC, an alliance of U.S. nonprofit academic medical centers, has launched a mobile tool for its RxLINK system, an existing online analytics tool that helps hospitals make pharmacy decisions based on price performance.
   The iPad app allows UHC pharmacy members to see information that can support decisions as well as provide on-demand insight to industry pricing levels for supplies and related shipping services.
   UHC said the goal of its software is to combine clinical and supply data to help hospitals reduce their supply chain expenses. The new app allows users  to track replenishment to specific vendors or products.
   It also supports integration into existing UHC-based supply chain and inventory management offerings.
   The RxLINK mobile application is available as part of the UHC supply chain participant offering and can be found in the iTunes store.
