UNCTAD APPOINTS HOFFMANN ECONOMIC AFFAIRS OFFICER

   Jan Hoffmann has been appointed economic affairs officer of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, based in Geneva, Switzerland.

   At the UN agency, he will work in the area of international transport, ports and shipping.

   Hoffmann was international transport analyst at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, based in Santiago, Chile. During his six-year tenure there, he produced research documents about coastal shipping, hub ports, concentration in liner shipping, port privatization and international transport costs. He has also organized and contributed to workshops and conferences in the region.
