Unions for cabin and cockpit crews are expected to stage a one-day strike on Oct. 1 that could cause a quarter of JAL’s domestic flights to be canceled. Another pilot union is considering a strike on Oct. 2.
JAL, which carries large amounts of cargo in addition to passengers, said negotiations with the unions are continuing and that the effect on international service is undetermined at this time.
