Unisys upgrading air cargo management system

Unisys upgrading air cargo management system Unisys is developing a next-generation version of its Logistics Management System (LMS) to include new features and a migration to a new high performance J2EE technology platform.
   Unisys said LMS processes about 25 percent of the world's air freight.
   The company plans to release new modules or services between late 2007 and mid 2009, when the work is expected to be completed. During the development phase, these new modules are expected to include cargo revenue accounting, piece-level tracking, and dynamic pricing integrated with routing availability among others
   'We are confident that the industry is now ready for a next-generation cargo system that will help to transform the way that air cargo carriers do business with their customers,' said Olivier Houri, Unisys' president, global transportation.
