United Fresh names Neenan VP sustainability    United Fresh Produce Association has appointed Rob Neenan to vice president of environmental and sustainability, effective March 1.
   Neenan has been vice president of government affairs for the California League of Food Processors in Sacramento, Calif., since 2005.
   'Rob shares our vision of sustainability as a tool to help growers and the entire produce supply chain reduce costs and increase efficiencies,' said Tom Stenzel, president and chief executive officer for Washington-based United Fresh, in a statement.

   Before joining the California League of Food Processors, Neenan served as director of trade services for the California Grape and Tree Fruit League in Fresno, Calif., from 1997 to 2005. During this time, United Fresh said he managed the industry program to export stone fruit to Mexico in compliance with Mexican import phytosanitary regulations, coordinated trade negotiations with the U.S. and Mexican governments, and provided compliance information to farmers and pest control advisors.
   From 1987 to 1997, Neenan served as an economist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service in Washington.
