United’s February cargo down 6.1%
United Airlines reported a 6.1 percent decline in cargo volume for February at 151.1 million system cargo ton-miles, compared to 160.9 million system cargo ton-miles in the same month last year.
The monthly result saw a 48.9 percent drop in mail shipments to 15.1 million cargo ton-miles while freight improved 3.6 percent to 136 million cargo ton-miles.
After two months of 2007, United’s system cargo ton-miles are down 8.5 percent to 293.5 million, from 320.6 million after the same period in 2006.
