United’s October cargo down 2.6%
United Airlines reported a 2.6 percent decline in cargo volume for October at 179.9 million system cargo ton-miles, compared to 184.8 million system cargo ton-miles in the same month 2005.
The monthly result saw a 42 percent drop in mail shipments to 17.4 million cargo ton-miles while freight improved 5 percent to 162.6 million cargo ton-miles.
For the year to date, United’s system cargo ton-miles are up 2.6 percent to 1.70 billion, from 1.66 billion after 10 months last year.
