UPS acquires Lynx Express in U.K.
UPS, the Atlanta-based provider of package delivery and supply chain management services, said Monday it has bought Lynx Express Ltd., an independent parcel carrier in the United Kingdom.
The purchase price was '55.5 million ($96.5 million), paid in cash. Bridgepoint Capital (Nominees) Ltd., a private equity firm, is the majority owner of Lynx Express.
UPS expects to complete the transaction in the second half of 2005, subject to customary closing conditions.
