UPS: Gray to helm U.S. package operation

UPS said it has promoted Myron Gray to head of package operations in the United States, succeeding Jim Winestock who is scheduled to retire on Feb. 1.

   Gray, 51, is head of UPS’s regional operations in Canada and Latin America. He will become part of the UPS senior level management committee.

   Winestock, 57, is a 40-year UPS veteran who is credited with pushing development of package flow technology and hand-held devices for drivers that have improved customer service and operational efficiency.

   Gray began his career at UPS in 1978 as a part-time package handler in Tennessee and moved up the ranks to head the UPS Americas Region in January 2008.
